Welcome to our new website!
I’m *laughing* because this is the first headline I see pretty much all business owners use as their very first blog post on a new website. Even though this isn’t a new website, we have given ourselves an upgrade!
We did a full website redesign, but we overhauled what’s underneath the pretty exterior too!
At Bourn Creative, all of our client WordPress websites are custom child themes on the Genesis Framework and we figured that it’s about time we switched our own site over to Genesis as well.
Along with the full website redesign and recoding to move the custom child theme to Genesis, we’ve been hard at work on several other major upgrades and additions.

Here’s a list of what went into the creation of our new site:
- All new design and code
- Reworked the entire SEO Course to be delivered by email and to include checklists, templates, screenshots, and sample code to make optimizing your website a cinch
- Replaced the 25 questions resource with a new website copywriting resource with 100+ Important Questions Your Websites Visitors Want Answered But Will Never Ask — organized by web page
- Ditched the email marketing best practices resource and created an awesome, 62-page, all content ebook titled Profitable Email Marketing Secrets
- Revamped the audio course and workbook How to Get Your Prospects to Say YES! In One Sentence, adding step-by-step formulas to clearly communicate your message to any market
- Created the brand new 3 Video webinar, How to Create A Website That Works When You’re Not Working that will show you how to get more clients and make more money with your website
- Created the Anatomy of An Opt-In Quick Start Guide with everything you need to know to create a strategic opt-in process, an irresistible offer, follow up sequences that work — and I even give you done-for-you content for your thank you pages, confirmation pages, and follow up sequences.
- Created the Anatomy of a Link Quick Start Guide that breaks down everything you need to know about using links for SEO into simple, easy to understand terms and strategies you can use right away to improve your rankings
- Created the hugely popular resource, Writing Killer Headlines that not only teaches you about the most successful and effective types of headlines, but gives you more than 200 fill-in-the-blank headline formulas! I even show you how to turn one headline into 30 different headlines, and how to use the resource to quickly generate an entire year of blog posts.
Plus, we also:
- Rewrote all of the website content
- Created brand new follow up sequences for every opt-in offer and product with even more juicy content
- Redesigned our design portfolio (and made all the samples bigger)
- Redesigned all of our social media backgrounds and covers — for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Google+
- Cleaned up our entire Infusionsoft account and regenerated all new opt-ins and forms with new tagging, tasks, and actions assigned
- Officially added our VIP service to our website (we’ve always offered it, but had never added it!)
- Had new professional headshots taken
- Reorganized the testimonials page to perfectly fit them all together in a beautiful way — instead of just listing the one after the other down the page
- Moved hosting companies — we’re now with WP Engine
- Wrote and added new author archive and category archive descriptions to the blog
- Redesigned all of our email marketing including our email newsletter
- Cleaned up all of our blog categories and most of our tags
- Signed up for and configured a new Amazon S3 account to host our webinar videos and all videos to come
- And more!
Needless to say, designing, creating, and launching this new site has been a huge process and we’re thrilled the site is finally live!
